Suggestion on tires for LT80
I have got my kids 80 running really good now. Only problem is I have little Carlisle Snow Hogs on it, they work great for flat hard pack but are too short for trail riding. I want to find some thing around 18 to 19 tall and like 9.5 wide. Mostley I find only knobbies that are too closely spaced and will slick up in anything that even looks like mud. I found some real aggressive tractor type treads made by carlisle for big tillers etc. I don't know if the tread would be too much for the 80. www.tiresunlimited.com/images/carlisle_specialty/sprlug.jpg That link shows this tire. Would look really tough but I don't know how well it would work. What have you guys used for trails that works good. I would like the snow hogs if they were about 4 inches taller and a couple inches wider. Suggestions please. I have done some searches but haven't found much information thanks.

We put on a set of Titan Fast-Trekkers. 20x7-8. Not any wder than stock but taller (so they do look narrower). Five rows of elogonated and angled knobbies. Gave the LT 5-1/2" of ground clearence and they work well in mud. Still has good low end despite the taller tire.

I found a deal on Nankang dimpled knobbies size 20x7x8 I think I am putting them on the rear. I was looking at the 4-max same size for the front. I wanted wider but am finding the selection limited. Unless I order them in and wait plus then I have to pay extra to have them mounted.

Does anybody have the Turf Tamers on the LT80? I have looked at them on some other LT's. They don't look that agressive, thus the name Turf Tamer I suppose. I'm wondering how they work on the trails, that might be a little muddy. I think I want alittle bit more aggressive tire. Any comments on the TT's or something else that works?

I ended up with the Nankings on the rear of the LT80 they worked better than I had hoped. handled some mud rocks and steep loose dirt rock mix. They also handled some snow in the shaded areas. Now I just need to make some mud flaps for the front fenders, the fronts flip mudd all over the rider. I am also going to try and make some nerf bars for it along with some new pegs the rubber is slick when covered in mud.

Hey jaybeecon, are those are front tires that you have on the rear? (the fast treker)
The only things I've found are the little holeshots, and stock (Nankang) that are in the 6-7" size. Holeshots, turf tamers, fast trekers, and shreders (I think) all come in a 18 x 9.5 x 8. The turf tamers have been around a long time. Alot of racers used to run them. Most would cut some of the lugs out to get the tire to work better. I have seen stock tt and don't really care for their performance. Cut a few lugs out and it's a hole nuther story. I bought some of the new so called holeshots only to find they are the snow hawgs with a different name. I was told they would measure 18" and they don't. I have since ordered some 18x9.5x8 fast trekers and plan on putting them on the stock wheels. If they are bowed to much, then I will get some wider rear wheels. On the Nankang's, alot of guys like them. I really don't care for the lack of tread depth and closely spaced lugs that don't clean out. Not to mention the tire roll when cornering. Both of my kids have commented of the improved cornering whith the holeshots.
Good luck whith whatever you decide.
