I have a 2000 Formula Cross with a Rotax 583. I really like it. I have ridden it in trails, but you would not want to try to climb over logs and big rocks with it.
The 2004 Formula Cross is $19,000 and the Extreme with the 3 cyl 4 stroke is $15,500.

Most of the Drakarts have been sold in the western states. No one local to me has one, but I have raced against others in Michigan and Illinois. There are others that I will probably ride with at some point in nearby states.
I will let you know that I am a dealer for Drakart so some may feel my opinions are biased. The speed power and handling are incredible. Without driving one, it is hard to even conceive. The reliability is not as high as products from larger companies like Honda. Part of that is just the amount of power. Things break when you ride hard. The Extreme is more reliable than the Formula Cross because it has a less powerful motor in the same chassis. Mine is a 2000 so it has seen more hours than most. I tend to drive it harder than many people as well. The CVs are a high wear item. I have had the inners rebuilt a couple times and had the outers done last fall.

My name is Steve Bishop. I don't want to list details because the moderators may take it as using the forum for advertising. You can get info off the Drakart website though.
I assume your father is Toby then. Alain has mentioned his name to me. They are the most poplar in the western states and I am closer to the east.
