I didn't check your link, but I can make a few general comments. Several of the Chinese manufacturers are making good 50's, 80's and 90's. Anything bigger is a guess. The 250's just don't seem to be good value for the $$, to me. If price is the issue, keep your eyes open for something slightly used and proven.
We test drove a twin 250 4-stroke, manual tranny, Chinese brand today. Only good thing was that is was VERY fast top speed. Found it constantly bottomed out and high centered. For a 2wd/250/4-stroke, the MSRP would convert to about $3500 US, before any taxes, freight, or PDI. I don't know what that'll buy ya in that category, but it would seem you could do better.

There are so many Chinese makers now that it's hard to keep track of.
Kazuma seems to be the one to avoid at all costs. Kasea seems to get some nice to middlin reviews. The rest are a mixed bag with reviews ranging from Yeeha! to floating in the outhouse. It gets hard to tell anymore.
We need a review thread on Chinese makes. Honest reviews from people who own them.

Not true. There is just handfull of manufacturers but a boatload of distributors stamping their logo on them. Track it back to the manufacturer. Some are good. Some aren't so good.

there are still several manufacturers. One of the atv mags published a guide of who the OEMs are for all the different distributors. wish i could find that link again. the dealers won't tell you, nor will the distributors. but they drop hints that their factory makes many parts for the Japanese makes. very frustrating.

areed. Remember Bruce Willis in Armageddon, when they're in the rocket, ready to blast off? He says something like, "How does it feel to know we're sitting on 40,00lbs of rocket fuel, in a rocket built with parts from the cheapset tenders"? Guess what, everything nowadays is subject to this global economy, and it's costing our country and yours thousands of jobs cuz we can't compete with cheap labor/ no enviromental standards, etc..., and consequently, everything is built through the cheapest tenders to try and get the competitive edge! Wal-Mart should change it's name to Asia-Mart.
