2004 Polaris predator 50 problem!!!
Juiceman keep us posted on how the problem is resolved. We have one also & my dealer said that as long as the gov is in place it will keep overheating and fouling plugs. We just let it cool down or replace the plug and keep on running!!!! While at the dunes we took the gov off and had no problems.

2004 Polaris predator 50 problem!!!
I have my daughters Polaris 50cc scrambler on the back of my truck as I type this. Same thing ride for 10-15 minutes and die, leave it for a while and it starts up,today it died and wouldn't go again! I changed the fuel filter as it was broken on the inside" brass ring" and thought it was restricting the gas flow, lots of gas in the fuel filter but didn 't help! My son has the same year quad and no problems! I will let you know how I make out. As for these other people, they turned your question into a pis--ng match about how old kids should be to ride rather than trying to help with the problem! Later Jim.....

Go over to miniatvs.com
You get your TECH questions answered and not some freakin lecture about what your kid is riding.
Juiceman, I'm sorry that you got this kind of treatment from a holy than thou, self righteous, arrogant self proclaimed savior of all our children, type of person(You know who I'm talking about).
Whodat,
This guy came on here looking for tech advise you had no right to pimp out HIS post as your personal PREACHING ALTER...I call it as I see it, and that is excatly what you did here.
Juice,
try the ingnition coil...ours was actually popping off while riding. There is a threaded piece in the boot that somehow became striped. I am pretty sure this is what caused the stator failure issue for us.
GOODLUCK

2004 Polaris predator 50 problem!!!
I finally found the time to mess with my son's predator!! My local mechanic requested that I start with the coil, I ordered one for about $35 and installed it in about 2 minutes!!Today, we rode pretty hard for about 2 hrs. and didn't have a single problem!!! I'd like to thank everyone who replied to this forum!!! This is my first time using a forum , and 99% of the people were pretty cool!! I even give the guy who gave me a bunch of #$#%**& ?? a shout out for his help!! Now that the quad is fixed I'm going to trade it in for a Yamaha Raptor 50!! I think I will have less headaches, if i stick with a four stroke!!! I'm a Honda man at heart, but unfortunately they don't have a model for my little big man !! At this point a 90 is too big!!If anyone has any reviews on a Raptor 50, let me know? Thanks Everyone!!

I hate to break your heart on this but. the goverment nor does the dealer care who buy's what for who or there ages. i got a polaris predator 50 for my 6 yr old. the free helmet they gave him fites me not him. the free training class that was to give to him was to me and 5 mins long. my son wasn't to take it. it is for the adult to take they say. and this was at honda east in toledo ohio. so about the rules you say must not aply to everyone then. also atv's are made from 6-100 year olds. and a 50cc atv won't go any faster then a kid riding a bike at there fastest. so 4 yr old shouldn't ride bike neither then right. for a nother thing. i trained my son at 4 in a wide open feild. i checked and double checked for holes big rocks to make a safe training. then trained in the small hills. got a problem with that.

2004 Polaris predator 50 problem!!!
Hello,
I know this is coming to you very late.. however, I bought my son an 05 predator 50 and it had the same problem.. I had to relocate the gas vent line down through the steering column. It hasn't had the same problem since... The orginial location of the vent line was bent over too much wasn't getting proper ventalization... maybe you've gotten it corrected.. for what its worth.. enjoy riding!!
