dropped off quad on friday AM. Hadn't heard back, so called in 2day. Experienced Suzuki parts/service guy said he could easily tell I had a bottom end knock= my loss of power. So, wants me to tear it apart and replace bearings, possibly con-rod.

i have lot of bottom end grunt and spin the tires.

what do you think LT80?

I personally think that the slight noise he's hearing is normal. Our's has that same noise and runs like there's no tommorrow. What about a crankcase seal leak causing loss of primary compression? That directly affects secondary compression, but will usually show up in running performance.

if it is crankcase seal, pretty much the same amount of work getting it stripped down to replace seal, so for a few more $$, I might as well replace bearings. you can check con-rod and crank to see if they're okay can't you?

hey have you checked the following: drive belt possibly worn or glazed, clutch wore out or broken, sparkplug not getting enough spark or gapped improper, or a major problem that i encounterd on my sons heavily modified lt was that it was not getting enough fuel at constant speed you see zukis use vaccum to pull fuel to the carb if this vaccum is not strong enough then you end up running on less fuel my sons bike can only run on prime on the petcock

thanks quadduck. I think I'll check the spark plug. I'm not getting the high rpm, so I don't think that'd be belt or clutch (plus I just had them apart). Limiters are gone and throttle screw is out. I changed to a Banshee petcock, $27 and it fits perfect and works well.

I've been really busy, but when i get a chance, we're gonna clean pipe really good over a bed of coals, and go from there. I always try to remember to update my solutions so hopefully someone else can read and learn.

took carb apart again, and it seems fine. pulled out the needle assembly and cleaned it out (had overlooked this before). Got the pipe on hot coals right now. tried blowing it out and it seems to have good airflow.

I did notice exhaust port was full of sooty crud. Should I pull the head off and clean it too?

I still don't have top RPMs. I'll bet plug is dirty too; haven't checked it.would a new plug restore RPM?

would disconnecting injection and running pre-mix make any difference to help restore my RPM?

Remember, dealer said I had a bottom end knock which was my reason for lack of RPM but that doesn't make sense to me. If that was the case, wouldn't it just knock louder at higher RPM? ( I still don't seem to rev half as much as I should).
