Default LT80 top speed is 15 MPH

Okay guys, i posted lots of info under the thread,"LT80 lacks top speed, should I re-jet". well, tonight I had Jr. pin it and I followed beside on a flat, straight paved road. top speed was 25 kilometres/hr which converts to about 15 MPH. Our Raptor 80 goes about 50Km/h= 30MPH. I'm sure this LT should do the same.

Funny thing is it takes off like a dart and spins the wheels, but then just levels off and doesn't seem to rev any higher or go any faster. Tomorrow i'm taking it to Suzuki cuz I've run out of ideas.

just had a light bulb go off!! What if the headbolts aren't quite torqued enough? would that do it? I went to a factory spec, but sometimes you need to go a little tighter. Hmmm.

If the light goes off? Is anyone home? Does the elevator go all the way to the top floor? Couldn't resist Did you crack the head when you cranked just a little too much? Therefore, loosing compression? Just a thought, After all, my light just went off too Lt. Dan

Confused, We borrow a good friend of ours LT80, after my daughter (80lbs)rides it around, we noticed that it also goes slower and eventually stops moving. Been told, it has something to do with the transmission getting too hot and needing to cool down. After you let it sit for a few minutes, it will get going again and haul a$$ Could this be the same thing as what's happening to you. Just a thought, light went off again

This may sound far fetched, but,,,,,did you ever have the wires under the hood unplugged? The white/red is for battery. If that wire would be plugged into the black/red wire, things dont work well.
What rollers are you running?(all 6?)

I PM'ed you. All 6 rollers are there. I'll double check wires, but I'm pretty sure the red and white wire goes to battery.

Rescue, I never over-cranked headbolts, so I hope i didn't crack head. And there's only one oar in the water, okay?

That's cool, I was just making sure, you mentioned about going a little tighter then specs. Of course, I would expect that from whitewater, not you. 12 ounce curls really don't add to much bulk, well except around the belt Hope Lt80 can help you, from what I've read on here, he seems to know his stuff about LT80s. Good Luck. Lt. Dan

thanks. hope dealer figures it out, cuz it went in this AM. they're a really good dealer, but they never called me back today, which makes me think they never got to it. NOBODY around here would be an expert on these though, I think there aren't enough of them.

JACK, can you hear me shouting? I did put the washer back in. I assume it stops the cylinder shaped bearing from sliding too far out.
