I havent posted in here in a long time but was reading what everyone said about the air filter and cleaning it with gas. I have Uni filters in my LT and KFX and use Gunk to clean em. Makes em super clean and then I rinse with soap and water and use Uni filter spray. Good, bad, ugly, let me know. Thanks fellas.

rescuediver: In answer to your question, I have only driven at night a couple of times, and I was able to see just fine. The lights bounce a tiny bit, but then again I was opening it up on mostly smooth terain. I don't plan to let my son drive at night any time soon, so we probably wont even use the lights, if at all. And the switch to turn them on is still lying loose under the seat, not too convenient.
Thanks again for all of the valueable input. I'm very excited to have my LT80 up and running again.

cruddymutt, what kinda Gunk product are you using to clean filter? gunk makes tons of different cleaners. some cleaners like carb or brake cleaner are really caustic and make the foam separate and fall apart. I'd be careful of that. but if it's clean and your foam is good, sounds like you're doing it right. I've never used the spray oil. I still think saturating filter is too much oil. look at a new filfter that comes pre-oiled, it's barely got any oil on it.

Oh man, talking about mice... I just rebuilt my carb on the old Warrior.. chucked full of mouse droppings. The whole intake was nothing but chewed up newspaper looking crud... And my tool box drawers were full of the fluffy stuff as well. Now you know how long it has been since I opened the toolbox to get a wrench...

It is truly amazing to me how those little buggers' can find there way into places like that. AND pack along nuts, etc. with them. When I fired my LT80 up after sittin' for a year and a half, all I heard was a bunch of noise that sounded like someone rattling marbles in a plastic butter tub. Filbert nuts! Guess I will have to plug all the intakes and store it better this year.

personally, I think engine dgreaser is way, way too caustic to use for cleaning the filter. It will eat away that foam in no time. I first rinse mine with soapy water, then a quick splash of gas which gets it spotless clean, quiccly followed by another rinse of liquid laundry soap and water to get the gas out.
