Eton Dxl 90 sierra will not start, please help.....
The atv was running great......we left it up at our ranch for 2 weeks, came back and it would not start......have put in 3 spark plugs, they all seem to have great spark, and it seems to be getting plenty of gas......I even sprayed a little starting fluid down the carb tube, and nothing....any ideals???

The only thing I touched on the carb is the idle screw......I moved it up and down but put it back in the same place........I also undid the bowl screw a few times and ran gas through it......not sure what the deal is.......There is pleanty of compression too.....If the cdi unit is bad will it still have spark?

I wouldn't think you'd get much of a spark, if any. But I've never run into a cdi problem.
I had one guy with a similar problem that kept pushing the throttle and completely flooded the engine. He said he turned the bike over, dumped about a half gallon of fuel and it started right up. The way your engine sits, I think you'd just have to remove the pipe and kick it over a couple of times. Maybe pick up the rear. But I'd rule that out before replacing a cdi if you've been on the gas.
Even with a bad choke, it should fire with the starting fluid (might smoke like crazy and die, but it should fire).

As another suggestion, change the Spark Plug. Many years ago, I had a snowmobile that did the same thing. It had gas, it had spark, etc. etc. Everything looked great and its spark even sent me flying backyards a few feet. Still, it wouldn't go. The engine wouldn't even fire. For the heck of it, I changed the plug and it fired right up - like the day we bought it. Conclusion.... the spark plug would show spark outside the engine but the plug would NOT work properly when under compression. Sounds weird but changing the plug immediately solved the problem. Who knows, this could happen to you as well....
Hope this idea helps...

Thanks guys for all your help.......I am a retard for not checking the exhaust.....apparently some dirt dobbers got in the exhaust when it was left at the ranch and built a nest in the exhaust, so it was completly plugged. Of course the engine wont fire if it cant breath......Once I cleared it out, the thing fired right up.....I worked on this thing for 3 days for something so simple.....Will definetly have to mark that one down in the books, right under dumb A@$!!!!
Thanks Again........
