Trouble with brand new Kasea 90
Well, after only one day of my son riding the Kasea outback 90, it has started making a rattling noise, coming from inside the case near the kickstart. This is the transmission, I think.
It is like a rattling/grinding/loose part sound that is most prevalent when the bike is coasting. I don't notice the sound when it's under accelleration.
What could this be?

Does the engine have to be running to get the noise?I would lift up the rear end and turn the wheels by hand and listen for the noise and try to pinpoint it.Is the chain maybe loose and touching on the swingarm? If its brand new I wouldn't run it I'd be taking it back to the dealer. The noise you describe doesn't sound good.

I lifted the back and turned the tires, and I really couldn't tell anything by that. I'll try rolling down a hill tomorrow to hear it with the engine off.
One thought. That plastic cover on the side of the engine (where the kickstart is) is not tight or sealed. He was blasting through some slick nasty mud today on it today. Is there any way mud/grime could have gotten inside that cover and be impacting moving parts? Looks like it's easy to remove (kickstart and a couple of screws), maybe I should pull it off and look?
