Default LT 80 compression

What compression should an lt 80 have? I am getting 120 #'s out of my daughters and a buddy said it should be around 140#. Any input is appreciated.

Never mind I should have searched prior to posting.

What would cause my sons lt motor to loose power when warm. Is this motor running hot? The exhaust air isnt any hotter than my daughters lt80 so I kinda ruled that out. I am running Golden Sprectra at 50:1. Our daughters runs great with the same fuel. Motor is fresh and is very powerful but after about 10-15 hours on the motor things started to go away. Could clutches massivley drain the power? compression is @ 20#s.

Yes 120#'s! Jack, This thing was screaming, I have some video if you want me to e-mail you of 220#'s going up a good dune on it vs my daughter (maybee 65#'s) barely making it up on her stock lt80. You are definately the man this motor rocks (by the way this is Craig from Kingsburg Ca, other screen name is spoolnaround but cant log on for some reason). I forgot to put the boot on the spark plug and figured it was running hot. I replaced the boot ran it around camp and after a lap the power loss was back. I was afraid I stuck a ring from running hot so I ran a compression check and it was at 120#'s. I tore the top end down and everything looks great. I got into the clutches and verything looks good in there as well. Carb?? do these motors have reeds? What else could cause a problem like this?

Yes changed the plug and cleaned the air filter. I am going to put this motor back together tomorrow and tear down the carb. I think I will replace the reed regardless what it looks like. I took a look at the exhaust and it looks nasty, not quite to the point of plugging it up but definately not good. This exhaust might have a total of 40 hours on it, thats a very high estimate. I am not too sure why it is so nasty but I am going to try and clean it up a bit, its a DG pipe.

at LT80's advice, i put my pipe on a bed of hot coals for about an hour, took it off and blew it out with compressed air. really seemed to help.

Of course if you have bad reeds then you wont develope enough primary compression and that will cause a loss of secondary compression as well to a certain extent.

He has aftermarket reed in it. I suppose it could be bad.
I'd like to know how tight the piston is.
