I originally turned the throttle all the way down and it won't go as slow as 5 mph when the throttle is pinned. The speed is more like 10-15 mph. My daughter is 9 and she can get it moving at a good clip in the yard (enough to get it airborne). I haven't given her the full throttle yet, don't want to see her put it into a tree! I found that the youngsters will start out R E A L L Y slow and build up when they are ready. This quad isn't the quickest off the line so there isn't much concern of an outta control wheelie start. It was, and continues to be a great first quad.

Lowering the ground speed "even more" on our Pred-90 for my daughter to drive is a concern as well. To help eliminate our "go slow but keep revs up" wants, I'm in the midst of installing a bigger rear sprocket and maybe a smaller sprocket on the front. Thus, max top end would drop down to 24 MPH and thus its minimum thumb control screw level would be even lower ground speed (lower then factory at the same screw setting).

As an idea, you may want to investigate bigger rear and/or smaller front sprocket for your mini as well. When the sprockets wear out (or stretch too much), simply reinstall factory size sprockets. By then, the young rider will be ready for faster ground speed.

Hope this idea helps as well...

Has anyone ever had a problem with the throttle adjustment screw on the handlebar on these 90 cc machines? I've followed the directions on as to how to slow it down by turning the screw and then tightening the nut but it doesn't seem to have any effect?

Have a safe and happy holiday all...
