Viper has no power.

My sons 2005 viper 90r has no power at full throtle it dosen't even do 5mph. we went out yesterday and it was a little muddy after about 3hours it started running like crap I thought it might be the air filter was cloged up but it seemed to be okay. It dosen't seem to be using very much oil, but I don't know very much about these little quads. What should I look at or where should I start? Thanks Jason.

Here's a few things...
- Check for pinched gas line.
- Check for pinched gas tank vent (if it has one).
- Check its CDI setting to ensure it isn't on the lowest setting. The new E-Tons have a Dial type setting and it may be set too low.
- Check its thumb control screw to ensure it isn't on its lowest setting. Could be set too low.
I've read many times the factory oil injection system is set between 40:1 - 50:1. Therefore, it takes 5 tanks of gas for every 1 tank of Oil Injection. And yes, the oil injection tank does go down very slowly. I even questioned the flow rate on our '03 Pred-90 when it was new.
- Check the color of its spark plug. It should be beer bottle brown. If black, then its burning more oil then it should. Probably from low RPMs (re: can't burn the carbon away) or from the pre-mix 50:1 in the 1st tank of gas. If it's NOT brownish or black, there's NO oil at all.
If doing low revs, I'd recommend you install a hotter spark plug and a plug that has a "P" in its codes. The "P" for protruding is better for stop / go and slow riding. Especially for 1st time drivers. The hotter plug allows more carbon to burn. Great for cold weather and/or 1st time drivers as well.
Try these items and let us know the results....

Start with the simple things.
1. Check the spark arrestor on the end of the exhaust pipe. Remove the arrestor and clean it in some solvent.
2. Fill the fuel tank up with fresh gasoline. Pull the fuel line off the carb. downstream from the filter and check to see if fuel is coming thru the filter.
3. After you have tried the most simple solutions reply if the problem continues.
We'll get if solved!!!

I agree, my son has a 2002 eton 90 every single time that machine runs like crap it has been water or dirt in the carb I don't even check anything else anymore till I clean the carb first and see how it runs. It seems to be the way it is with the design of the stock airbox , and buy the way the oil seems to take for ever to go down

Great News.
Like I said start with the simple things and rule them out before you start ripping things apart.
Those E-Tons are great little machines, hope your son has lots of safe days riding.
Happy New Year!!
