Neighbors tired of seeing me cussing in the garage
Ok before I throw another fit in my driveway in front of my neighbors maybe someone can help. Used 90cc 2000 Monsoon atv, bought a week ago son rode all last weekend it was great. Start it up this Saturday and ride for five minutes, full gas or idle and it was fine. After five minutes it bogs out when giving it gas. Sometimes it will start back up and only idle. If you let it sit for about ten minutes it will start back up and ride fine for about five minutes then the same thing happens. Any ideas before I lose it again in the driveway cussing and throwing stuff.
By the way, checked fuel, new oil, cleaned carb, new plug, kicked quad, threw socket wrench, shook carb, yelled at quad, kicked the dog.
Thanks Rob

Have you checked the air breather. My sons quad had simular problems. The two halves of the air breather were leaking giving it to much air. Just a thought. one other thing is the float level correct. It could be getting to much gas flow at mid throttle.

Could be a plugged vent on the tank or the carb. If there is a drain on the bottom of the carb, open it when it dies, and see if theres any gas in the float bowl or You could put a clear gas line on it, and then you can visually see if gas stops flowing. Its pretty common on the small atvs, the air filters are crappy, and the pasageways and vent are tiny, and it doesnt take much dust and dirt, and they have troubles.

Have to agree with honda buster. Same thing happened on my Yamaha FZ 600 sportbike. Vent tube got plugged with something and it would run a few minutes and then just die out. After it set for a half hour it would start up for another 5 minutes. Incredibly frustrating. Luckily the mechanic caught it when I took it in. Would have saved me a lot of hassle had I checked it first. Jim

Take the carb off the bike and take the bowl off of the bottom of the carb.
1st check for dirt like the guys said
2nd turn the carb upside down and look at the float is it level?
3rd if not level put a screwdriver on the metal part on the float and geltly bend the piece until it is level.
4th reassemble and put carb back on
hope this works.. It did for my sons scrambler 90 did the same thing
