Default Clutch Starting Point

I just rebuilt my sons KFX 80 due to injector failed. I bored 60 over, ported the cylinder, new reeds. Milled the head 30. Carb is jetted with a DG pipe.

What I would like to know from those that have built their LT 80’s, how many rollers did you remove first in the front clutch and then what did you wind up removing at the end. Also what about the rear clutch, did you go with stiffer springs or did you stay stock.

Thanks

start with 4 stock rollers. You'll prolly be fine.
We use an aftermarket rear clutch spring to avoid premature travel of the rear clutch.(big spring)
We cut the rear clutch shoes to lower the weight.
How much compression do you have now?

I don't know. I don't have a compression gauge, I will see if a friend has one. What type of aftermarket rear clutch spring do you use and where can I buy them.

This little quad has some power, I weight about 215lb and when I punch it, the front end will come off the ground. Once it gets rolling you can here the RPM's change, the engine sounds like it was being shifted into second gear, like the clutch was slipping and then grabs.

Thanks for your help and advice

Just finished pulling two rollers out of the clutch. What I noticed is it seems to be still be slipping, at least thats what it feels like. I'm sure my weight has alot to do with it. It does take off much faster and tops out quicker. Has anyone taken out more then two rollers? going to try it out at Glamis this weekend.

Pulled the clutch apart today to pull 2 rollers and the grease that is in there is really gunked up. I plan on cleaning it up real good and regreasing it. How much grease do I use and what type?

Thanks.

I used heavy duty axel grease. Probably not the right type but it will work for know. I need to replace some rollers, they have several flat spots in them. I'm thinking thr rear need some attention
