lt 80 starter question

i have a 2001 lt80. the question i have is the kids were riding it it died. the starter wont turn over. i jumped it at the relay & is still dont start. if the motor was seized i would think the starter would at least make a humming noise. is the any other way to check. also is the a secret of getting that starter out of there

Stand the machine on the rear bar and jump it at the starter.
To remove the starter, you most first remove the big bolt that holds the motor in. Raise motor.It's a tight fit. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
Remove the rubber on top of the fan cover (right leg) and see if you can turn the motor over with the fan using your finger.That'll tell you if the motor is siezed.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

ok i jumped starter at the starter and it works. i swapped relays that is by the battery with a known good relay. still doesnt work. jump the connection at the relay still doesnt work. where shoud i check next. is it in the brake switch or the on off switch. or is it a wiring problem
