Default lt 80 starter question

i have a 2001 lt80. the question i have is the kids were riding it it died. the starter wont turn over. i jumped it at the relay & is still dont start. if the motor was seized i would think the starter would at least make a humming noise. is the any other way to check. also is the a secret of getting that starter out of there

Stand the machine on the rear bar and jump it at the starter.
To remove the starter, you most first remove the big bolt that holds the motor in. Raise motor. It's a tight fit.
Remove the rubber on top of the fan cover (right leg) and see if you can turn the motor over with the fan using your finger. That'll tell you if the motor is siezed.

I've found the push button to be a problem before.

Default lt 80 starter question

Two problems that I have had are:

-Circuit Breaker under rear fender/Seat can be tripped?

-Black ground wire that is attached to engine needs to be grounded properly...

make sure foot brake safety switch is getting pushed in. check fuses. check for pinched or loose wires. good news is, your starter is working.
