Carb question
#11
I will look into the oil mix as well. I currently use a Castrol TTS brand mix. Unfortunately the place I got it from went out of business. I guess I can also get it online. It is smokeless as well. Are there any other things I can do to eliminate the puttering sound when idlnig? I am at the end of my adjustments on the air screw.
Thanks,

One thing to check might be to see if your slide closes all the way with the new cable. This is just something to look at, when I changed our cable it was just a little short and the slide wasn't closing. It gave me a fit untill I figured out what was wrong with it.

I took one of the little brass covers that cover the outer part of the cable and slid it off the cable. I think they are suppose to be crimped on but the one I took off came off easily. I then cut 1/8" of the cable's outer cover off and slid the little brass thing back over the cable cover. I did this at the adjustable part of the cable. I hope that makes sense to you. You should make sure though that there is not some other reason the slide is not closing before you start cutting your cable. If your slide dosn't close all the way you'll be getting to much air at idle. You'r going to have to readjust your carb when you get the slide closed.
