Your kid may be the exception but I don't think the average 3 year old is physically or mentally ready for a gas powered ride-on. Be my advice to stick to Powerwheels for another year or 3.

My 3 year old does great. He is 3 ft tall. The brake is just a pedal on the right foot, just push on it and it stops. He has no problems driving this atv. Had it 4 months now with no issues. It goes through everything.

Just to update our problems with the KMX-50 purchased from 1Trail.com. Received it on 05-31-05...intake manifold broke on 06-05-05... took forever to get a response from 1Trail... changing management I was told finally. I received new manifold this week and installed it. Will see how long this one lasts. Hope it's more than a week. The two RFX-110MKII purchased at the same time have worked fine with the exception being the connecting link on one of the drive chains came apart. 1Trail did send me a complete new chain.

shudup I do not know of another chain that will work on the Kazuma 50, but if you do get stuck or need one we do have them in stock.

Update:

Both my Kazuma 50's are out of commission. One will not turn over, the battery is fine. I suspect a wiring problem. The other, turns over, but it does not fire up. I suspect the valves need adjusting again. I am sick of working on these two pieces of junk. As soon as I get them running again, I will ebay them at no reserve and buy a real ATV!!!

Well, here we go again...Kazuma 50 had a broken intake problem, installed a new one early July... My five year old son has used it about a dozen times. Intake manifold is broke again! You would think with all the broken intakes, Kazuma would come out with a fix for them. Will probably have to wait another month for a replacement Intake from 1stTrail. The price was right and it runs great when it's running but this is getting old. Having alot of second thoughts.

Hello All...It's been awhile since I last submitted any comments to the forum, but due to weather, my son hasn't been able to ride much since his first 50 was replaced. Before I begin, I'd like to mention that John @ Raceway was excellent in supporting me with the first one we had even though I purchased it local. So again, thank John for your help. Like I said, we were able to replace the first quad we had at no cost to us (other than trouble). My son has now had the replacement ATV for about 3 months. Within the first week, both engine guards broke off, and the gas tank started leaking around the cap. Both of which happened with the first one we bought. It cranked and ran fine for the first month and during the second month it began giving us problems. I cleaned the airfilter and adjusted the carburator and that seemed to help. Since then, it has rained quite a bit and he hasn't been riding much but when he has, I've had to play with the carburator for about 20 minutes or so to get him started. It backfires quite a bit and stalls out after about 10 or 15 minutes of riding.
I believe it may need a valve adjustment or timing adjustment but I hate to try this myself without knowing for sure how to do so. I tried to do it on the first one we owned but I was never sure if I did it right or not.
Atleast with this one, we haven't had to replace the intake manifold yet. Hope we continue to have this luck. I've learned alot about these little ATVs, but I sure hope that Kazuma does something to resolve the common issues that people are having with them. You would think that if they want to keep selling them, they'd do what they could to improve them.
Does anyone have any ideas on the Fuel tank leaking issue?
TWOMANYTOYS..........the problem with the one "NOT TURNING OVER" is probably the starter relay. I had to replace the one on the first ATV we had. They are not sealed and corroded extremely fast. On the new one, I used some RTV to better protect it from the elements.......so far so good.
Good Luck!

The problem that I had with the quad not turning over turned out to be an electrical short on the wire leading from the battery to the starter (I think). The wire was melted all the way thru. It appears to me that the wire came into contact with the frame (maybe via vibration). The other one needed the valves adjusted. It had only 30 lbs of compression. They are both running now. Maybe it is a good time to sell them... before something else fails...
