Hello Gentleman (and ladies)
Just have a quick question for everyone that may know. I just purchased 4 of the 16X8-7 NANKANG tires to replace the stock tires on my sons LT80. I can't seem to find a site to order the Douglas .125 rims from. If anyone knows where to order the rims from, please clue me in. I also want to know what is the greatest offset I can put on the wheels to widen the stance of the quad? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I just purchased 4 of the 16X8-7 NANKANG tires to replace the stock tires on my sons LT80.
Those might be to small for the LT.
I looked at those tires at Les Schwab......
I'm not sure, but are you sure you want the 7" tires?
The stock tires are on 8" wheels.
I "think" I've seen before where the 7"ers are to small..
The popular Nankangs are the 16x6.5x8.
Also, I believe you will need to adjust your gearing, F & R sprockets, to accomodate the 16" tires.
I hope I'm not talking out my a$$, but I'm sure somebody will point it out if I am.
I have some info on the sprocket sizes you may want to try if you need to.
For Rims, try calling RockyMountainATV on the phone.
Good Luck

I sure hope I don't have to change anything else on the quad to put these tires on. I ordered the tires that were suggested by LT80 in another thread I read by doing a search. I hope I didn't buy the wrong tires??

I must have not seen that post by Jack (LT80).
I've always seen him recommend the 16x6.5x8 Nankangs.
which are the ones I'm getting.
Don't remember ever seeing 16x8x7. Those are on 7" wheels ?????
Here are the 16x6.5x8 which take a 8" wheel
you'll see the size you got a few tires above these on the below website. Which fit on 7" wheels
Nankang's
Like I said, I'm not exactly sure, but I thought I heard the 7" wheels were to small for the LT80.
I'm sure if I'm wrong, somebody will pipe in.
Good luck

After looking again, you are correct, LT80 suggested the same one's your suggesting. I will return the tires to the place I purchased them from and purchase the correct ones. Any idea were to get the rims??

I would call Rocky Mountain ATV..........
I don't think you'll be able to get different offset rims.
As you have read, there are various ways to widen the LT. Depending on how wide you want to go.
Here's how I did it the first time I widened it.
I did the cheapo way, go the hardware store and buy longer bolts and put some nuts on them. (these replace the stock studs).
I used 3 nuts as spacers.
Along with turning the wheels around both front/rear.
That worked great, and was cheap. really stabilized it.
Then I decided to get the James Lucky front end extenders, which are 6" wider overall.
I sure like those a lot better. Widened out the steering points and I think that works better.
Also put wider tires with wider wheels on the rear.
Now it is dang hard to get two wheels off the ground, much less tip it all the way over.
You've obviously read a lot, so I 'm sure you find what will work for you. It's kind of trial and error.

Thanks for your input, I'll just get the front end extenders with wider wheels and tires in the back.
Thanks
