A friend of mine said i needed a new ignition because it takes a while before it will start. The brake light wont come on untill about 2 mins after i turn the keys. He told me i needed a new ignition.

We need more info.
Your buddy "may" be correct, but I'm not convinced the ignition is the problem.
Please explain in detail what you are doing and what it does/doesn't do.

Your brake light comes on when you pull the lever in. Does it take two minutes after you pull the lever in? On our Eton we had the key switch go bad from corrosion. I took it of and pulled it apart and cleaned it real well and put some dielectric grease in it. Then after I put it back together I siliconed it to hold it together. The brake switch may also be the problem, it's on the left handle bar. One way to check the key switch is to disconnect it and jump the connector on the quad.

I'm thinking same as newnick.
Cleaning connections and dielectic grease is alot cheaper than swapping ignitions.
