LOL.
I have a lil girl here that races a blaster and a LT. It's funny, her and her dad race. Till 5th gear the LT is right with the front wheels.

Glad it worked out for you q-duck.

With that in mind, put a kid the same size on that Blaster and LT and then what? I know for a fact a stock Blaster with a 80lb kid that can ride is a good race for an so called adult (220lbs) on a stock 400ex for the first couple of hundred feet. Been there tried that yesterday. Not trying to knock the LT or the guys building them, but do half the mods to a blaster that has been done to the LT and what do you have?

And by the way, 250ex's and z250's are not in the same class as Blasters. Going up from a modded LT to a z250 is not a very big step up. Mostly size not performance.

The lil girl is 100 pounds, the dad is 125,,maybe.It's pretty equall. When she's on the blaster she gets the hole for about 1/2 a bike length, then is equall. I rofl when I saw it!
Her blaster is stage1 ported and piped.
Are we talking about the excellent performance of a LT80 or the poor performance of a blaster? LOL

Jack,
I don't doubt that you build some wicked LT's. But I have seen some of the midwests "best" get handed their butts by shifters, blasters and 300ex's. The biggest thing I had against the LT compared to the blaster is the suspension, and performance potental. If a slightly modded Blaster will not run better than a fully modded LT, the engine builder has a problem. At the most what can you exspect from the suspension of an LT? 5" of travel without frame mods? Maybe more but then again the shocks don't cost much less for an LT than anything else.
Like I said, I believe YOU can make a LT fly. You da man at this!! But there are alot of guys that can crank 35+ hp from a blaster, and still have better suspension, and room to grow even more. Alot of people run the blaster down and truthfully, I don't see why. I was on another forum and they all bashed it. But when they started talking about building shifter quads, thats the first frame everone used. (when custom frames are out of the question, that is) Of coarse they told me an 8 year old couldn't handle having to shift a blaster either. ( Don't tell my youngest, he doesn't know he can't ride his yet!!? )
To make a long post even longer..... I geuss my point is, you won't see many LTs that can run with blasters. Maybe in the dunes, maybe around Jacks area, but not many other places. If anyone can do it, Jack can!! But why? Kids grow up, REAL fast it seems!! Teach them to ride something with gears and a clutch, and they can ride anything! But do it at THEIR rate, not what we want.

Man this is so hard to see in my head a LT80 going this fast. I'm not at all doubting you cause I never thought my bike could be as fast as it is. Just got to know how to do it. Wow that is impressive indeed. My son probably won't be in his but for another year or so and am gonna go with a bigger bike after that. I sure would like to see one run though.

A modded lt 80 any day over a z 250 or 250ex on the Oregon dunes. But whos complaining, now he has 2 bikes.
And my daughter was at coos bay racing a 250 ex and out of about 10 runs she won about half of them. Moral lesson of my story, should have got the blaster and saved some bucks.

Hey quadduck. Will it climb all the hills at the Oregon dunes? What are the tallest dunes you have do you think?

I won't let him try the tree shots as I don't think he is old enough yet. At sand lake pretty much everything except the tree shots off to the right over by lost goat and the ones down by derrick rd campground. He can climb out of 3 bears with ease and all of the shots between 1st and second bowl. As for coos bay I don't know yet, Something always breaks on it the few times that I have taken him there. I have pictures of his 80 and or video climbing out of a lot of the places mentioned, but it seems like the camera always makes the hill look flat so unless people know where the pic was taken, you would say so what. As far as a reference of stock compared to his lt, his little sister has a 04 and when they race at first bowl, depending on sand conditions, he will be at the top and a stocker will barely be 1/2 way up. Also if if your in the sand take off the skid plate, it is always dragging in the ruts. I have only seen one kid so far whoop up on his 80, and he was getting beat bad. That kid had a pumped up kasea with well over 10k invested. I have that kid runnig wth blasters out in the flats on video. Fast!

Wow, cool. I've already ditched the skid plate along with the sprocet guard and anything else that wasn't needed. The tallest dunes we have here is 100 foot or so. Some are pretty steep and loose though.
