While riding this weekend my son's LT stalled while going up a mountain road, first look seemed to be plugged fuel **** because of no fuel and good spark. I pulled the vaccume line and sucked on it and fuel ran out fine. This is my question, do I require a reed valve replacment or fuel **** valve replacment. The quad started fine after putting the fuel lines back on.

 

If it's fine now, then it's prolly just one of those things that are never explained.
I don't feel that the reeds would effect it like you said, and the petcock is obviously working fine by your vaccum test.
I think I would clean the carb.
FYI:: You can leave out that black rubber piece in the float bowl.

 

I think your right, I may be looking for a problem when there is none. We were going slow up along hill on a hot day, I think Ill take your advice and clean the fuel system to be sure. Thanks.

 

a hot day between your torrential rains??[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] seriously, hope you guys got that under control. maybe it was a vapor lock. make sure gas tank tube is clear too, or fuel won't flow. AND, if you do have a petcock prob. banshee PC fits same hole in tank, but 1/4 the price.

 

The Rain is gone, but left large puddles that you cant keep a 9yr and 7yr old out of on quads. They have fun, and I get to clean them. I still dont know what it was really but think it had something to do with the pc valve and diaphram sticking ( not a major problem while out on the lease roads) . I looked at the banshee pc at ronnies( this is fantastic to see the parts) and did not see a vaccume line, or diapham. would you just need to plug the vac from the carb.

 

yes you just plug it we have one on ours and it works great.it's straight flow no vac needed.
