If you are looking for more stall speed you need to change the shoe springs on the rear/driven clutch. Heavier will increase stall speed. This will change the ratio of the clutches as the variators will be farther out (belt higher in front clutch) when the rear shoes engage. Lighter rollers will help this, but then you may bring the engine out on the optimum power rpm. If motor is stock, I would change the sprockets if you want more bottom and leave the clutch alone. No easy answer, but there can be alot of problems. Refer to what qwadfather said.

The clutch engagement springs only "engage" the power to the tires at a certain RPM level. And yes you can get different engagement springs that will help a bike like your sportsman in situations like when the front tires are stuck in a rut or trying to get up and over a small hill etc instead of the engine just making noise and not moving. They are very inexpensive (like $10-$20 for springs to more $ for a whole kit) Look at some other posts for a good mini quad performance co like "Hetrick,WRH". they will know what you are wanting. Hope this helps.

Remove a roller or 2 in the front clutch.
This will get you what you are looking for IMO.
The others arn't wrong, but getting a lil technical for all your looking for.

Absolutely do not take out a roller or two. The front variator turns about 7000-9000 rpms this needs to be balanced properly, get lighter rollers if you want it to turn more RPMs on the topend but the bike will run best with near stock wt rollers. I have tried this all on a timed 300' dragstrip many times with the 90s and 8-9 gram rollers like stock will out run 6s or 7s (rollers) on a stock bike even though it feels a little faster off the line 6.5s were about 1.5 seconds slower in 300' dragraces but felt faster and would wheelie off the line better .

I've ran many motors with different combinations of rollers w/o problem.

You could try a smaller front sprocket if you don't mind a drop in top speed.

I don't know but lighter rollers really don't cost all that much. I would think temporarily taking rollers out or mixing weights would be more of a test to see if it will give you the desired results. Don't think it would hurt a thing to try it. But I also think you'd probably be better off in the long run just doing it right to begin with.

Just my $.02.
