Default Advice on a 90-110cc Atv

I'll speak to my own experience. I have a 2002 Honda TRX 90 that has been ridden hard by multiple kids and it is still a great little quad.

I have 2 Kazuma 110s that I bought last year from Raceway ATVs and I have NOT been happy with the quality. (They are such POS's that I don't list them in my sig. )

I am looking at another TRX 90 and a suzuki 160 (darn kids keep growing ) I will lose my tail on the Kazumas, but chalk it up to a lesson learned.

I can't speak for any other quads. Between the Blasters, the Moto4's (I probably should have kept those but they were kind of heavy for kids) and my current quads plus a 2000 grizz and a 2005 450R, the Kazumas have been the ONLY quads I've had so far that I have not been happy with.

BTW, you don't really need a fully automatic quad. We just put the little Honda in 2nd or 3rd and let the kids rip. They learn how to use the gears in a few months, no problemo.

Good luck with your search.

Default Advice on a 90-110cc Atv

I live in IOWA and we don't have the same restrictions here as in Cali. You do however bring up a very good point that all should be made aware of. I have seen on a few and I mean a few of the companies selling these chinese quads about California sales. I am prooof of that I didn't even know that an ATV needed to be registered to ride on State managed ground. The Chinese have seen a nitche in the market as ATV's while growing in popularity are increasingly expensive. And as a result built cheap and easy to get ATV"s. So the average shmuk who wants to spend some quality time with the wife and kids. I did alot of research before I bought on sites just like this one. I appreciate all the dialog and honesty on boths sides. It makes it much easier for people like me who have little or no experience in this area to make an informed decision. But I will tell you in all the articles I read pro and con not once did I here about registration and or red and green tags. If anyone can expalin it in depth it would do a lot people alot of good.

Thanks Again

couple years ago i bought my son a kawasaki 110 mojave. Its just a bit bigger in size then a mini rappy but 20cc more. It has functional lights, semi auto tranny and enought power for me (195 lbs) to ride. The only downfall I feel is the suspension. They are hard to find, but a nice starter.

if you need a green-sticker machine, take a look at JetMoto, which is basically a Redcat/Kazuma/Yamoto lookalike.

re comparing jap machines to the new chinese, the jap quads are much better in quality, without a doubt. but the chinese will catch up as they correct all their problems, and then actually have a fairly decent machine. for $1100 bucks ($1500+ savings over a trx90) you get lights, electric start, reverse, and shaft drive. maybe it won't last 25 years, but who cares? - gasoline powered toys will be illegal by then anyways.
