well I think the choke on my sons 150 is finally crapping out.The thing will start up and run well till it gets warmed up then it boggs and finally dies and i cant start it again till it cools down.Anybody got a fix for THIS problem (by the way its a 04 with electronic choke)

Have you ever taken off the carb and cleaned it?Every time my wifes yamoto did what you are saying cleaning the carb fixeed it. There is a modifcation to turn the electric choke into a manual choke too.

There was a link to it some where in all the yamoto 150 review thread pages. I found it a few months ago for some one else and the link was dead. I'll do another search and see what I can come up with. Have you ever cleaned the carb?

Since you havnt cleaned it yet, then I would say that would fix it. Just get a can of carb cleaner and spray it thru all the jets and passages. Then if you have it available use compressed air to dry and blow thru it too. Just be extremely careful not to get any of the carb cleaner on anything rubber in the carb. The rubber will swell it up and wont be reuseable.

Can anyone tell me how I can determine whether my Yamoto 150 is a 2004 or 2005 model? The guy I bought it from said it was an '05. However, from the threads I've read so far, it seems the automatic choke was replaced with a manual choke starting with the 2005 models. (mine has the auto-electric choke).
