How good is the Eton ViperR? 2 or 4 stroke?
Son has outgrown his Scrambler 50 - primarily because we can't keep the breaks working well enough to keep him safe for how he rides. Narrowed new quads down to 90's with hydraulic brakes and like the Viper 90R due to ease of adding headlights, reverse, neutral, dual tail lights, and strong shootouts. Does anyone have any experience with the 2 or 4 stroke version?

I don't have any personal experience with the "R" model but our 04 90cc Viper has been a fantastic little machine. It's been very reliable and has seen lots of trail miles and some racing as well....A couple of complaints I've heard on the newer models is that the spark arrestor in the muffler seems to clog up easily but luckily it is removablel so you can clean it.The other thing is just initial adjustment of the idle speed when you put it into reverse. If its too high the engine will shut off as a safety feature.Again this is no big deal unless your dealer has it set up incorrectly.

The dealer I just bought my 70 Viper from told me the 4stroke viper has been under design for the last 18 months,They are supposed to follow up with performance mods within 6 months. The 2 stroke version is excellent, however you now how it is when you bring in a new model. One thing you can count on with Eton is that they will stand behind there product. I didn't buy one becuase the 90cc is to big for my daughter. The 4 stroke will be better if you plan on getting wet. Either way you will get a good machine, the idle problem with the (R) is a simple fix.
Good luck
