1- Exhaust Restrictor- Remove the exhaust pipe from the cylinder and there is a washer in there...just pull it out and bolt the exhaust back up
2-Intake Restrictor- In the arm that is between the carb and the cylinder....On the side that goes to the cylinder you will a thick spacer in the end with a thin slit.....Use a screwdriver to try to turn it until comes out..many have to use a torch to heat the spacer up to get it to turn...maybe you will be lucky and not need to....
3-Carb Piggy back jet----Flip the carb upside down, remove the bowl cover....you will see the main jet directly in the center..then right next to it you will see a very small opening where the pilot jet resides.....remove the jet in that hole...it is about 3/16" big.....the pilot jet will still lbe in it's place once this piggyback/restrictor jet is removed)
You may also have to move the needle clip to the very top notch once you start making mods (I run it at the top position)

can you explain these 3 things your talking about?
where are the intake and exhaust restricters located exactly?
where about on the carb is the piggyback jet?once removed will i have to mod anything else?
the only injector remove is pretty pretty obvious to me.

1- Remove intake and exhaust restrictor
2- Remove piggy back jet from the carb
3- disconnect the oil auto injector line and run 40:1 premix
Just these 3 things alone will make a "HUGE" difference
Email me when your ready and I can walk you through them....
I also put wheel spacers ($40) on the front to add stability along with snow hogs on Douglas Rims ($200 total)
i have a question about removing the oil injector set up, lol even though i thought it was obvious....
when i remove the hose that goes to the right case side cover what do i do to cover it just plug it up or do i need to remove the part that bolts down to the case too?if so what do i replace it with.
also how much trans fluid does it hold when doing a trans oil change?
You son will be a very happy boy this holiday!!!

As promised in an earlier post, the results of the new Wiseco piston and light port job are as follows. No real gains seen or felt but the quad continues to run as strong as it did before, although I didn't expect much from the new 1mm over piston or the port clean up that I did. The main thing is that my kid loves the added power from the pipe/air filter combo and the removed intake restrictor.
I as well thought about buying wheel spacers for the 50 and my other son's Raptor 80, but found that flipping the front wheels works well too. On the 50, all you have to do is make sure the valve stems clear the brake actuation arms on each side. If they do hit, a slight tweaking of the arm solves that. On the Raptor, I had to break the beads, remove the valve stems and reverse them and then add new valve stems to the other side of the wheel. Both quads gained about 2"-2 1/2" in front width.

I had PR Racing in Ohio do their National Port job and added the Wiseco stnd bore piston and man this thing rips!!!
The difference is substantial to say the least!!! The guys at PR were never too busy to talk or offer advice and they delivered as promised!!
They work with the head and port the cylinder ($300)....It accelerates a lot better and my boy can stay in the power band with ease now...
Still waiting for some clutch help from the crew at CT Racing......

well, Hubby is out doing the modifications right now. His first task was the intake restrictor, come to find out the dealer had already removed it. He changed that notch thingy only up one. He got to the exhaust restrictor and removed that. A friend told him to take something out of the muffler so he did that too. So, everything is almost done and now he's asking me to find out what oil the transmission needs and how much. Of course, I can't find the owner's manual (we had it out a couple of weeks ago and it seems to have grown legs and walked off).
so, here's the question...
I know the trans calls for regular engine type oil so I think we bought 20W-50 but the dealership says to run 10W40. I don't have any on the shelf. If I recall, I think the reason I picked up the first one was because of the temperatures we run in. Would someone mind checking their manual and see what it says????? I can run out and buy the latter but it's kinda rainy and cold and well, you know, I'm in Southern California and I might melt...lolololol
Thanks again for any help at all!
PS-and how much does it take???

I have never heard of a dealer removing the intake restrictor??? Just to double check...this restrictor is not the same type as the exhause restrictor (washer)....it is actually in the arm that goes from the carb to the cylinder....On the side that goes to the cylinder you should see a slit that allows fuel through......this is the piece that needs to be removed.....
Just wanted to double check since most dealers aren't even aware of this restrictor and the bike probably wouldn't run so well with it out and the exhaust restrictor in
Hope it turns out well......don't forget the piggy back pilot jet needs to be removed too

When he got it apart, he laughed and said, Honey, there is nothing in here! Sure enough, the intake restrictor isn't there, it's completely smooth, like there never was one in the first place. Then I started thinking back to when I picked it up the day we bought it, a friend at the dealer, who prepped that bike, said that they had already pulled one of the restrictors. LOL.....go figure. So after all this.....it only needed a little more done to it. We can definately feel and hear the difference but he's now having some problems keeping it running so he's going to adjust the needle thingy again. We'll know more next weekend when we head out to ride.
We think after this season, we'll end up selling it at the beginning of next desert season and upgrading. That soft sand robs that little bike of what power it has.
