in all of these Chinese made mini-ATV's?

First, let me start by saying hello...I am new here.

I have decided to buy my two kids a couple of these smaller ATV's. The decision is based on price. I would not have even thought about this sort of purchase had the prices not been so attractive. I have looked at several different brand online and they all seem to be the same basic rigs. 50cc,70cc,90cc,110cc. Are the drive train of all the imports the same?

I have found what I consider to be a deal on a couple of 90cc's China made ATV's but can't seem to find out anything particular about the brand label (Lafon). I am thinking that these are made in China and then someone is importing them and putting their brand label on them. Am I wrong?

Also, at looking at these rigs, the 50cc, 70cc and 90cc's all appear to be on the same frame. Am I correct in assuming that I should be able to put a five year old boy (approx 50 lbs.) and a nine year old girl (approx 80 lbs.) ona pair of 90cc atv's and be matching them correctly to the right rig?

Thanks for any help

i believe lifan is just the engine manufacturer and alot (or all) chinese quads use these lifan engines. I have heard alot of great things about racewayatv they are a big internet dealer and have a local shop in New York (staten island). If you do a search in this forum there is tons of info on the kids chinese quads. good luck and do your research b4 you buy also best price isnt allways best when you figure in customer support you will get from a better dealer after the sale.

Welcome to the forum mallardmangler, You are correct that there are a lot of generic assembliers out there assembling similar parts to make slightly different quads. My advice would be to buy one if either you are good with a wrench and like wrenching or you have a dependable dealer near by. Do a search in the kids quads forum and you will find lots of info on most Chinese quad manufacturers.

mallardmangler,

I would highly recommend doing business with Raceway Atv. They are great to deal with and they are there after the sale. As for the 50,70,90,110cc atv's the 50's are on a smaller frame and most 70 are. I would not put a 5yo on a 90cc. A 70cc would be plenty and you can get them in the same size atv with different motors. Check out Raceway and see what he has. If you call talk to John. He can steer you in the right direction. Dont go to an unknown online store because if you have ANY trouble you are screwed. Raceway has been dealing with these chinese atv's for a while now.

These atv's are great for the money but you do need to pay special attension when getting it together and maintenance is a little more involved but can be great for a first quad.

The 90cc I have been looking at seems to be on the same frame as the 50cc. I have negotiated a deal on a pair of 90cc's for $1000. That deal has not been beat by anyone online that I have found. But then again, my knowledge of these machines is very limited

don't buy the kazuma 50, not thats it's a bad atv but the yamoto's offer alot more for the money, i have two kazuma 50's, just put together a yamoto 70, boy what a differance, the kazuma's are bare bones compare with the yamoto, i was so happy with the 70 i just ordered a 90 from raceway, these are going to replace the 50's, are grandkids are 6&7, the 6 year old is a terror on wheels. i have no problem giving the 6 year old the 90,remember they can be thottle down, and the kids won't outgrow them so soon.
