New to forum, have SunL Freedom 90 question:
What would cause machine to run rough after rinsing mud off? After a good rinse the machine runs rough then stalls, I cover the exhaust and ignition before rinsing to prevent water from entering either. In a weeks time it will run fine. I only rinse on Sundays so it drys out during the week. What else could be protected prior to rinsing?
My 6 year old has been riding this since Christmas. The performance has been fine lately. I had been monitoring this forum for quite some time and have followed some prior advice. All of the electrical connections have been cleaned, dried, dielectric grease added and then taped. I also disconnected the alarm and some other port type connection on the right side of the machine just ahead of the rear wheel.
To reiterate other helpful advice I would strongly recommend:
-Know your way around a tool box if you're going to buy a Chinese quad.
-Change the plug to compatible NGK immediately.
-Change the oil to synthetic.
-Use premium gas only.
-Check and tighten all bolts.
This machine now runs great since the above has been employed, except after rinsing.
Things that I have learned:
-Keep anything requiring grease, well greased.
-Keep the tension on the chain set, not too tight, not too loose. I have had to adjust it (tighten) twice so far.
-Front bearings in one hub disintegrated once. Some how dirt and or debris entered the hub and then the bearings were history. I took the other hub off inspected the bearings and found a model number on them. I ordered a set of 10 from a company in Ca for $10. SunL wanted $20 for 2! I cleaned and reused the collet and also added a 16mm washer (available from the big orange box store)on each side prior to reinstalling the hub to provide additional protection from foreign material entering the hub and of course greased them well.
Thanks in advance for any help.

diffidently water related, water is still getting into the connectors, i would suggest removing the electrical tape then use rtv or liquid electrial tape on the connectors, completely covering them, i use liquid elecrial tape myself ,wal mart has the liquid tape in the boating deptment, when you redo the connectors pay special attention to the back of the connectors were the wires enter, if you cover the connectors correctly you shouldn't have anymore problems with washing it,in fact you could power wash it without any starting or running problems, cover the cdi unit where the wire connector connects also.
