I am twelve years old and just got a Baja Wilderness 250cc. I was just want ANY info on this quad or... any thing else. People have already told me wear a helmet and dont give into peer presure yada yada yada. I just want some knew knowledge. thnx.

 

For your machine:
- Baja Wilderness Trail 250 ATV (All Terrain Vehicle); 229cc, Four-stroke engine, 13.6 hp, Shaft drive, Electric and pull start, Five-speed auto clutch transmission, Reverse Front disc/rear drum brakes, 12 volt adapter for electrical accessories, Front and rear cargo racks, Front skid plate. Read your manual inside and out, then backwards.


For the driver:
- Check the ATV age and Trail laws in your area. On my ATV trails, one must be age 16+ to drive on them. This is a new law introduced (well, being mandatory) in Jan 2006. If you are 12, you may be restricted from your local ATV trails as well.
- Being age 12, one must be supervise. Sure hope one of your parents and/or guardians have their own ATV and plan to go riding with you.


For now:
- Drive "slowly" in your back yard. Get use to its power, leaning, braking, turning, etc.
- Register on a local ATV Youth course (even if its isn't mandatory by law) and learn even more. When it comes to riding, its more then learning to drive in one's back yard. It's around many other things as well. Things that professional instructors can only teach you. For example, what's the proper side to mount or dismount an ATV??? Many folks don't know this....
