Always great to see another Islander on this form.
Just to let you know, we are off the subject of Giovanni Spare Part Numbers in this post.
Could you start a new post ( eg. Gio 250 electrical problems ) ?
Describe what the quad is doing. Will it start? Backfire? Run & Sputter?
The members on this forum are very helpful with electrical and other problems.
I can tell you about a few issues that my 250 had. Hopefully this will guide you in the
right direction.
The 250 rear-end is not posi-trac, I managed to come down on a spinning wheel hard enough to break the engine key-way. After that the quad would not run, just backfire.
Replacement engine sent from Giovanni.
Another problem was getting grit in the carb.
The engine would start just fine, but as the engine warmed up it would just run worse and then die and not start. It had small fine pieces of fiberglass in the carb.
Cleaned the gas tank, carb. and installed a inline filter.
I can get you some info on up Island shops if you want.

Gio quad 250 cc
Hi Dave (and or SCALLERMAN.): I am leaning towards hauling the quad to Port Alberni to have a mechanic fix it. I am not mechanically inclined and , just want the quad fixed to maybe getting a few days of riding in before the wheather turns for the worst. I have a couple of acres, of a ten acre lot that my dads owns to do some riding on.(COWICHAN VALLEY.)
And yeah! If you know of any mechanics south island that would be great. Maybe save me the trip to Port.
Happy trails my friend.
