There are some people in Yorkville, Illinois the have an Atv Shop where they sell and repair these things. Some thing like that should not take very long to fix. There Yorkville location phone number is 630-553-3570 and Aurora location phone number IS 630-692-2531. Call the yorkville location first.

Hey guys, here is what I have got so far...
I bypassed the switches and relay by connecting an automotive jumper cable to the positive of the batter and the positive of the starter ( the big wire soldered to the top of the starter, with a heavy insulator on it)
I tried two different batteries, and got the same result.
So, then..
I took the starter out and cleaned the rotor commutator and brushes.
I got most of the carbon buildup off of both.
I reinstalled the starter.
Same result,
I strongly believe the starter is just weak.
It is pretty small.
I am going to start looking for a new one.
Have a good one.

Hey all, This may be a little late for you but this sounds like you need to do some cleaning in the clutch casing. 1) If the starter is turning off of the engine case then it sounds like some bearings are shot in the case. This may be the same for the kick start sticking. the clutch compartment should be inspected 2x a year for normal riding and when ever you ride in wet conditions you should ensure there is no moisture. It may only need a shot of lubracate inside.

sometimes the gears on the backside of your engine cover behind the kick starter needs oil wd-40 or spray will work ours stickes alot after riding in dust that cover is very easy to take off sometimes there is a vent in front of the cover you can spray into that not to much you dont want it to get onto the belt try that to see if that will help you

Hey evveryone,
It looks like you were all right and I was way wrong.
After looking at the price of a starter and getting the notification of miniquad and fixit posts, I reassembled the quad after spraying aero kroil in the case
it definitely plays hell with the belt, I had to kick it to start it, but when I throttled up, it barely moved
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPS
to much oil steve
So I removed the cover again and put about a can of Berryman Brake clean in there
I let it set for a couple of hours and reassembled
not only did that take care of the oil clutch belt etc,
when I got on I decided to try the electric start again and lo and behold it fired right up
my son and I were both thrilled
We have gone out to the garage several times just to start it since then and it fires right up everytime
thanks you guys for saving me $135
Have a great day
steve

I have a 2003 polaris p90 predator. It has been a few months since we last rode it, (when it was running fine).
This weekend we had some problems with it. It starts and idles fine, but when taking off it wants to die. It will take off better with choke on halfway, but when returns to idle need to close choke or it will die. I took carb apart and cleaned it good. that didn't help at all.
Seems like it is running really lean at WOT. I have not changed a thing on it since the last ride though.
Anybody have any insight that might save me a little time? Maybe some common problem with these bikes?

They cleaned/tightened battery cables
Found 2 loose electrical connections - recrimped them
Also they said that they have seen problems if the throttle limit screw is too far out-throttle needle will over extend and get stuck causing flooding
Not sure which problem it was, but running like a top now
