Default What will it hurt?

I know how to disconnect the automatic oil injector on my LT80 thanks to posts and replies on the forum. What I was wondering was will it hurt anything to just leave it hooked up and run premix instead? I know the cam/gear part is normally removed inside the engine side cover, but will it hurt to just leave it there and run the quad?

It's like running any gear/pump dry...Future problem IMO.

This spawns another question.... Can I simply remove the gear but still leave the pump and line running to the carb in place? Is it necessary to cut off the line and plug it or can it be left alone? Could I just remove the oil tank and cap off the fitting at the pump then? Thanks.

It's so easy to remove the whole thing. Pull the tank line etc. Cut the line at the carb and get a vaccum line plug from any automotive parts store and cap it right over the metal fitting coming off the carb. Call Trinity and buy a $ 8.95 block off plate for the clutch case. Voilla! Dishes are done.
