Default Air filter for setup for Eton 90cc?

I'm having trouble with the stock airbox on my 90cc Eton. I think the quad is a 2000. All the plastic mounting tabs are broken off the airbox and it keeps separating from the inlet tube that runs to the carb. One of the aluminum tabs on the engine case broke off as well. Is there an aftermarket filter/adaptor setup that I can run instead? I'm tired of siliconing and wiring the stock airbox up only to have it come off again. If I use and aftermarket setup, do I have to rejet as well? Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, but the catch is you'll have to rejet. I went to the K&N website after measuring the diameter of the carb and matched it up with a universal vent filter. Has worked great!

Did you have a clearance problem with the tire when turning full lock to the left? Is there an adaptor to point the filter a different direction so it clears the tire? What is the best place to buy jets. I need to put in a bigger jet I take it?

No, I was scared of that though so I got a 3' diameter/ 2 or 2.5" length (can't remember). Think some people use 4" length but from what I've heard, the longer filters are also more likely to pop off. I really don't think you'll need a very large one unless you pipe and port it and get a bigger carb.

The only concern I had was it gets sprayed with sand on a regular basis but no problems so far. Changed cylinders a while back and the stocker still looked good.

Man I don't know what your doing to that machine to be breaking off all the mounting tabs(rock climbing)?...I was just trying a UNI filter on our Viper 90 yesterday.Stock jetting was a #85 main and the bike would not pull at full throttle at all...Jumped up to a #115 and it was much better but still very lean in our cool mid 50 degree temps..I have the longer filter (around 4 inches long or so) and it clears the front tire no problem although I'm sure it will get bombarded with sand and crap from the front tire...

The tabs simply cracked and broke during normal riding. I broke the aluminum tab on the engine case when I tried to take the screw out after the plastic tab broke. I barely applied any pressure and it just cracked and fell off. I was thinking of using some kind of outerwear over the filter itself, is this recommended? Also, where can I order jets for it? Thanks,
Jeff

Hey Raptor, does this bolt directly to the carb or does it require some kind of adaptor? I haven't measure the outlet from the carb, but it doesn't seem very big....

with running a stock pipe most of the time the stock jet starts out at a 75 you could try a 85,87,90, you can get a pod filter for about 16-20 $$ and with the clamp the goes around the carb they dont come off unless you dont get it tight enough most of the carbs that are on these engines are mukuni i dont think that spelled right but that how it sounds most of your local shops should have them you just need to take it with you there are hundreds of differ sizes and styles once you get this done it is a better filter and your quad will go faster you will also have to ajust your carbs air screw when you are doing this remember when the engine does not idle down as soon as you let off of the gas stayes up then goes down it is running to lean just keep a eye on the plug make sure it has a golden color to it and you will be alright we have been racing about 4 years i have done alittle bit of every thing to these little quad my son has won about 40 races and two point champ we have a lot of good luck with it and a lot of fun i hope i helped you out
