Sportsman 90 Starting Woes
Hey guys,
I have a 05 Sportsman 90 that has been giving me starting woes for the last several months. I finally took it to the dealer, the took the carb off, cleaned a stuck slide and some other stuff and it started up at the dealer, started at home for a 20 minute ride and now will not start. I have put several new plugs in the thing and cannot make it start consistently. I am planning on taking it one more time to the dealer to fix it on their dime; however, does anyone have any experience with this and can give me some help? Not sure if the choke is not working or not.
Any help would be appreciated so we can all ride again!
Thanks,

Does it stay running when you do finally get it started, or does it shut off after awhile? Does that carb have a vent tube? If so, try disconnecting it from the quad and blowing compressed air through it. Check the air filter. Good thing is you still have your warranty to rely on, so I wouldn't go deep into it just yet. Good luck!

Hey, it runs great when it starts. I will try your suggestion as well as checking fuel filters etc.... I live in Central Illinois and right now it is like -3 outside but is scheduled to warm up over the weekend so I hope to work on it some. I am thinking of trading it in on one of the new Polaris 4 stroke 90's or perhaps even a Honda 90. Actually the machine is out of warranty but I am into the dealer over $200.00 the last time they took the carb off and they are going to make it right. They are pretty good guys and they will work with me.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
