I seem to be having a problem getting coverage for my new jm125.Seems that the companys all say that they cant locate that manufacture so they cant insure?Has anyone else had this problem? What do most do.Do you even tell them that your 10 yr old will be riding?Would like to have insurance just not sure were to find it.

You are lucky.

In NY, unless the your quad is operated on property that you own, you must have insurance. Even if riding on a friend's place with their permission, you still must have insurance.

If you ride on your own piece, your homeowners will cover.

I have heard that about a few states on the east coast. I would go broke if I had to insure all of my toys.

Well, if you think the insurance is bad, try Connecticut. Besides have the insurance issues, you have to pay property tax EVERY YEAR on anything with a title, including homes, RVs, trailers, boats, bikes and even ATVs.

Tax is based on book values, not actual.

Don't pay your property taxes, you lose your toys to the tax man.

At least in NY, there are NO LIFT LAWS on your road-able 4x4s as long as you have passenger plates.

I have umbrella coverage for $2,000,000 for $138 a year. This is above and beyond the policy limits set in the homeowners policy. Very good thing to have. Even if you have ATV insurance, the 2 mil goes above that too.
