jetmoto200 vs tornado 200

No, your tech was just bein' freaky and paranoid.
Think about it. Take a front wheel off and take a look....
Imagine the stresses that the lugs will receive under normal use. Now, imagine the traction patch to be outboard a couple of inches. Imagine the ride/action/stresses again... the wheels are bolted to the same lugs with the same bolts, and fit just as securely...
No sig diff.
BTW: my detailed report is now FINISHED and updated. I'm going to that thread right now to post the announcement.

Thanks XavierOnasis for the write up you did on the 200, I just recieved my Hurricane 250 yesterday and your tips came in real handy. I cut the rubber on my peg from the begining but the back brake was still a little hot after a 5 minute ride last night. I only had the evening to put it togather and test it. All in a rain storm, the rain was comming down in sheets.

I did last night that did it. Now that it doesn't have the brake on it even hauls my 220 lbs up the steep hills around here in second gear. I think everyone is right it would be nice to have anothe tooth on the gears they seem a bit high on this 250 they probably use the same bike on both engines.

I'm working on a mod for the shifter now...whiskers did a good one...I'm just gonna try to put some part #s to it or a bike name/brand to pilfer the parts off of. As it stands now..most of the hsifter parts are going to come from Sportbikes...they have the flipped linkage ... I'm using some parts from a 1993 kawasaki zx6 right now... I'll post the info it it does or doesn't work out

Sounds great I just cut the heel protion off with a hack saw, gets in the way and I have had so many different bikes that shifted differently I'm pretty much at home with the reverse shift.

tjsmicro,
I just got back from a trip to see the thread. You probably need to cut off about a quarter inch from the threaded rod that connects the brake pedel to the master cylinder. This will allow you to adjust the nut further up the shaft and cure the drag problem. Take a look at this thread further back to see how we have been bending the brake pedal to accomodate this adjustment and move it out from under your foot.

motorextremes lists the tornado for $899 ! wonder if they watched this forum... BTW I got my certificate of origin in a timley manner and overall I am impressed with the product and the service is ok too as long as you don;t get hung up on a color....but then again for 75 ,more they'll express your order...very worth it....
