Wow - thanks for turning me on to this deal.

Mrs. O & I have been wanting another quad, but assuming we'd have to wait a long time to get it. In the mean time we each ride alone, discovering new and beautiful wilderness places and wishing the other could come along.

I showed her the Tornado and we had a long discussion. When the no-name ChinQuads I found where half the price of a known-good Japanese unit I was still prone to be cautious, and wait & save up. Now, this one is ONE-QUARTER the price ... and for THAT kinda savings I am happy to make some compromises.

We have decided to call them tomorrow (Monday) and find out exactly where the terminal would be on my end, and maybe ask a couple more questions. If we dont' get any unpleasant surprises we've decided to order a white one on the spot.

I'm no pro mechanic but I'm probably a better-than-average driveway mechanic. When I was younger I did everything a dirt-poor north-country redneck had to do to keep his own car going. (the only reason I don't STILL do it is because I'm not dirt poor anymore) In fact, I'm kinda looking forward to the assembly & wrenching part of the project right now. So, anyway, I'll let ya know how things go... and in a few months whether I'm tickled or ticked.

*chuckle*

I thought I'd serch the web for any word from someone with experience on one of these machines. I went to Yahoo and typed in "Tornado 200".

I got a link back to this thread.

Everything else was about ... big windstorms...

I tried "Tornado ATV" - same result.

There doesn't seem to be any discussion of this machine anyplace on the web besides rigfht here. I guess a couple of us are about to become pioneers.

Observation:

At Motorxremes' site the photo gallery for the Tornado 200 has 25 pix, but they arent' all of the same machine. There are at least 3 machines, and on one of them they're covering up the brand name.

First of all, the one in pictures 24 & 25 has a different front bumper than the rest.

Also, in pix 9, 21, 22, & 23 you can clearly see that they have taken black duct tape and covered the name on the fuel tank. Since the Hi-Bird name shows nicely on most of the other pix I must assume the duct tape covers some other name in those pics.

I'm not panicking here, I'm not freaking out and/or suggesting that there is some grand deception. I still plan on buying one this week ... it just makes me curious about what it says under that duct tape.

I'm also curious about what the "C" in the front bumper was intended to signify.

Hey guy's just came across this thread... Let me give you some infor on the Tornado 200!!
I wanted to get an ATV and started looking. When I came across this bike and thought I'd give it a shot I needed a bike fast for some fun I just got back from this weekend. So on monday Feb 5th I called them up and orderd the bike. it was $899 shipped free, but like I said I wanted it fast. I paid $75 for expidted shipping. They were great. I picked up the bike at the terminal on friday on my lunch break. It came in a box surrounded by and mounted to a steel frame. I had to put on the wheels, Handle bars, Bumpers and a few other small items. It was shipped with oil in it already and a battery that you filled using the provided acid-fluid. I had it together in about 2hrs by myself and was riding it down the road. The next morning (Saturday) I went to an event around here called MUDFEST. I got alot of looks and questions about the bike and everyone was impressed. The bike looks nice and runs great. I ran through mud, popped wheelies, caught some great air and had a blast. The bikes size and looks compare to any racing style ATV. The only issue I had with the bike was that the fuel filter sat to close to the cylinder head and melted some causing me to stall. I bypassed the filter by tubing straight back from the tank to the carb and will but a new filter on this week with a longer tube and a new route. It is clutch driven also. If you are used to dirt bike you wont mind. The clutch gave me more control over the fun I wanted to have (I could drop the clutch and spay mud everywhere or pop wheelies with ease), but I am going to change the thumb throttle to a twist.

Bottom line is this bike is 100% worth the $899 and more. I love it and others are mad that they paid 3-5x's as much for a name brand.

I just ordered my Tornado 200.

I called yesterday with a few questions and spoke with Niki. I've never found a phone rep who did their job any better than Niki. Relaxed, personable, articulate, knowledgeable, yet with no pressure sales tactics.

On today's call I had one question for which she did not know the answer. She put me on hold for ... not even 10 seconds, and came back with the answer.

I asked for a Tornado in green, and she pointed out without me asking that they're coming through in more of an Army green than Kaw-Green despite how it looks online. I changed to white, with a second choice of blue. If she hadn't been so straightforward I'd have ordered green then been disappointed - and stuck.

She told me exactly what assembly chores I'd have to do, and made sure my questions were answered. She gave me a quick "Do you need anything else? Would you like to order a helmet with your machine?" Again friendly and low-key , but making good business out of good safety... and that's good stuff IMO.

So, this company has given me positive early impressions. Frankly, a better impression than my Polaris dealer has ever given me.

I'll let ya know how things go. For nine hundred bucks I'll be pretty easy to please. I wont' expect it to never break, but it had better not break every time I ride it , either.

My sales rep was Kannin. He was the same way. A quick note is after assembly go over every bot to ensure they are all tight and do it again after a couple hours of riding!
