Battery in Redcat MPX90U/Factory contact
#1
I bought this the week before Christmas brand new. The battey was dead when I picked this up from the dealer. He charged it and asured me it was good. I brought it back a few weeks later becasue it would die when trying to start the vehicle and It seemed not to hold a charge very long. They load tested it and said it was good. I am having to charge this with a motorcycle charger about once a week. Is this normal? Should I pursue them further or ditch it and just buy a new one from Wal-Mart?
I have not had any luck in contacting the factory on any of my issues. I have called and never get anything but voicemail. That is after I have held for 15 minutes. I have sent emails to them and even the president but no response. Has anybody had any luck in contacting them?

instead of buying a new battery, buy a battery tender instead and keep the battery on it when not riding, they come with a wire harness to hard wire it in, so you only need to unplug it before starting the atv. your battery will last for years instead of months, even the cheap chainese batteries.

No, it does not have the remote start or alarm on it. I purposesly did not get that becasue my research had turned up that those killed the battery. I bought a trickle charger (1.5A/hr) and aired the harness to the battery. I just thought I would not have to do that with one that is only 1 month old.

What you may want to do is check the plug at the rectifier and make sure it's plugged in good. Also check the charging
by starting it and measuring the voltage at the battery. While revving it up a little the voltage should jump over 13v.
Battery may possibly be good and just not charging while running.

Buy a new battery,I bought a RedCat 110cc at Christmas and the battery did the same thing.
A battery tender "WILL NOT" help, been there-done that. The battery dont have the
amprage to start it that good,or something like that.
Go get a new battery, dont have to get one that cost $50 either.I got one for mine at Advance Auto Parts for $23 +tax and I havent had a problem battery wise.
Auto Zone,Wal Mart,Napa, and many others should be a good place to get one also.
Put the acid in,charge it with a 1-2 amp charger for a few hours and you are set.I bought a battery tender charger, that way I dont have to worry about over charging it.Plus I can use on lawn mower, camper, and Arctic Cat batteries as well.
You need to do it now and you'll be glad you did,or not and be out on the trail this spring and it go dead.Just carry some straps so you can pull it back to the truck.
I assume its for your child and you have an ATV also.
Also, the battiers are not covered under warrenty, good thing,I wouldnt want another junk battery like anyway.Same Battery same problem!
