I just don't trust the factory prep, and want to verify that the fluid levels are correct.
Thanks for your help Valder, & 2manytoys

I checked all the way until 2002 when there is no Predator listed. They have a Sportsman 90 and Scrambler 90. The manual actually shows using the dipstick as the fill level.
2002 Sportsman/Scrambler Gearbox Oil Level
Nothing listed lower that 2002, and 2007 they switched to the 4 stroke, so not applicable.

Fastestdad had it correct from what I see. I still do not see how the 2003 and up show the fill level at about the half way point, and my supposedly brand new DC seems to be full to the top. If it is true that the fill level is suppose to be to the top, than it is DRASTICALLY LOW FROM THE FACTORY.

I think I only have some Valvoline synthetic 80/90 gear oil. I would think that would be ok to use. Wouldn't it? It would be definatley better than what is in there. (Nothing)

Ok here it is. The tranny gearbox takes 7oz of gearlube. Realisticly if there is no leaks you should not have to check it but it looks like thats the dipstick. It should be changed once a year.
The reverse gearbox is 150cc that equals 5 oz.
The tranny gearbox is 207cc that equals 7oz
Both take the same fluid and AGL synthetic is preferred but regular synthetic gearlube will work fine.
I think what you have will work fine.

It is similar. There is oil in the Gearbox. I am waiting for clarification on the method to check lubricant level. 2manytoys method will work when you change the fluid, but I still do not have a straight answer on checking fluid levels.

There is really no way to check the fluid in the reverse gearbox. Every picture that I have seen for checking the tranny gearbox shows that you have to see the level on the dipstick. Fluid should be seen on the dipstick. Thye motor in these are like the 90 scramblers and sportsmans. I guess the only difference with the pred90 motor is the site glass.

2manytoys, have you changed the trans fluid in yours? If so did you add the stated 7oz and did it show on the dipstick? I just am not comfortable with filling up a gearbox to the top. Have you ever seen one totally full per specs? I know that I haven't and I have worked on many a rear-end, manual transmission, transfer cases etc.... Not ever have I seen a required fluid level that would fill the entire case. Unison's service manager couldn't give me an answer. They are suppose to get back to me after they contact the engineers. That's hard to believe.
