You know, the one thing in all of these bikes in the 150 catagory is the engines are the Honda GY6. They do run great. And as far as the rest of the bikes go there is not much difference in build quality. If they will get you some new skins you should be alright. I personally vote for black. My black 200 is great looking. I'm not to happy with any of the camo's with the off color undersides.
I just ordered a new bike guys. A Roketa Panther 150 utility. Went with the black even though they offered some fairly good camo. Same engine and all but a different look to the plastics. I'll post areport when she comes in and see how it compares to the hi birds.

Whiskers,We got the sport model called an Eagle. But after looking at the model you have the frame suspension and transmission are the exact same thing.I talked to motorxtreme today and they ask me if I filed a claim with the freight company for the damage and I tld them no because the box was in perfect shape.I then told them that damage or not I cannot live with the color of the skins.
He told me he would see what he could do about getting me the color posted on their web site.He told me he would call this afternoon how long it will take to get them in.They say their a parts stocking dealer but don't carry body parts.
That panther is a nice looking bike..I looked at another site earlyer on the roketa
and they had different models as well.

xczukiman,
If he will get right with you on the skins then I'd say you did ok. I've heard other guys find damage after they took off the cardboard that looked ok. I'm gonna peel mine before I sign for it. I went with this Panther because of the body style and racks which I was going to add anyway. Nine mile matched a better price that I found from another site but only had the camo. Funny thing is I went with them because they offered black, but turns out they were out of black, which is why I started looking around cause I couldn't get a black Hi Bird from anam cycles. I wanted to use this for hunting so should have gone with camo, right? Heck no I liked my black Hi Bird too much. But my hunting buddies tell me deer can't see red anyway, so I went with the red one. Looks killer on the site don't it ? Gotta look good doing it !!!
Your right on the frames. That's what I was saying earlier, there is not much difference in any of these quads. I do see some of them doing some refining with each production run. Or maybe the dealers are ordering some to better specs. But all in all if the engines are good, as with the Hi Birds, then I can deal with a little quailty issue here and there. There really is not much you can't correct in the garage with a a hammer and a welder ! I had to totally remove and realign and reweld the swing arm mounts on my wifes 150. I looked at a local guys eagles the other day. They are the exact same bikes with differnt plastics. They got a bad rep last year, but the ones they are getting in now look just like the Bird as far as frame. The only reason I didn't go with them is they have the reverse in the rear axle. That worries me. I've heard they won't take much abuse. So I went with I already have and like. Plus this one is supposed to have 10" rims, so I should be able to put on bigger tires !
It's all fun !!!!

Well I have made a final decision.Motoxtreme never called me back after they told me they would plus I her a knocking noise in the transmission side of the motor every so often. its going back.I'll bet this phase is going to be fun.The reverse is on the rear axles and I don't like the thoughts of that either. Now I have to find my wife another 150.Can I ask you what you paid for your panther?
Now to the hi-bird 250.It is very fussy about starting. After I get it warmed up and strt riding it it dies on me after about 200 yards.then I have to crank and crank it until it fires.I can also hear the valves tapping.I read on one of the threads to drill a hole in the top of the gas cap I may try that. Also I am sure I am going to need to get into that carb and to some adjusting.I am a limited shade tree mechanic a best so me adjusting valves is grim.If I can get to the air fuel mixture screw I'm sure that should help a bunch.
Another question.Does you bird feel hot to you when your riding?Meaning the 200.
Maybe its just because the exaust is right by my leg I don't know.Just seems exceptionaly hot.

kczukiman,
I got the panther for $1149 delivered to a terminal . Or you can get it for $1199 with home delivery. Just ask Scott at ninemileatvs.com to match the price of VBike.us or go theweb site of www.vbike.us and look for their 150 utility. They show it in blue but all they have on hand is camo. I went with ninemile because their bike shows 10" rims. But the one at vbike shows front a arms with adjustable ball joints. So if I wasn't concerned with wanting bigger tires later on I would prefer the better front adjustability.
Also you can get the bike you were supposed to get from AZSupply on EBAY, also known as vbike, but it doesn't come in camo. It is $900 delivered if you call in the order or $949 on ebay.
As far as your 150 goes. I believe you have a legitmate beef with them. They clearly did not send you the HI Bird quad. Every site that sells them shows them to have the better axle, with the transmission on the motor. I have heard of many people having problems with the reverse rear axle. John at raceway says they are not bad for trail use, but they don't hold up to any speed riding or jumping. My local dealer of Sunl even admits to having a lot of service on them. I know most of the brands s that started out with them upgraded to the better axle, but several have not. I am sure yours is no upgrade. Only a substitution. The pictures on their website clearly show the newer rear axle.
By the way you can find a local company to put the atv on a pallet. Mine came on them. I have them out back just in case.
Your 250 sounds like it needs to be ricned a bit. The mixture screw is on the front side of the carb above the float bowl. It is a booger to get to. You need a carb adjuster tool sold by MAC tools or Snapon. Also you may find you need to pull the top off the carb and adjust the needle one notch richer. Most of these come set at the middle position of the little c clip on the needle itself. Mine had to be put in the bottom notch to run good. These are a little cold natured though. Also look at the choke cable and make sure it is in it clip on the side of the carb. Mine was not and I nearly never found the problem was I was getting no movement in the carb when I tried to apply the choke. Also the heat problem is common. But nothing much to do. Is there a little fan on yours? If so keep it running if you are not keeping the bike moving.
Good Luck!

kczukiman,
You rock dude !!! And Kudo's to Motorextremes. It's great to hear that some of these dealers are doing the right thing. And I'll bet whoever shipped the trash bike gets an earfull !!!! Let us know how she likes the new one. I have to tell ya my wife is tickled with hers. Oh, and by the way it will do wheelies with my 200 pounds on it !!! Let us know how the new one is when it arrives. I found my carb tool on ebay for 3 bucks. It is about 18 inches long with a curve in the end. A flat blade screw driver tip at the business end. A **** on the other that turns the tip via a cable inside. It will fit both the mixture screw and the idle screw. Happy shopping !
