That didn't even work with mine. If I take that cover off I am sure gear oil is going to spill out isn't it?

I wonder if it might me the shift switches?

Go here and look up the parts diagram for the transmission. The switches look like solenoids, Ref # 46-2

This is on etons website under Technical Documents
It doesnt work on mine but may help you.

ETON America, LLC
E-TON Electrical Shift Transmission WP-0020
07/01/2006

Model effected: All E-TON ATVs with Electrical shifted transmissions

Symptoms: Transmission position indicator light blinking

The flashing light indicates the transmission is physically in a different gear than the
selector switch.

With the key in the on position, the engine NOT running and the LH brake fully applied:
1. Push the shift selector switch to the reverse position and wait 3 seconds.
2. Next, push the shift selector switch to the forward position and wait 3
seconds.
3. Next, place the selector switch in the neutral position and wait 3 seconds.
(The transmission and switch both should now be in neutral position.)
4. Turn the ignition key switch to the off position and wait for 10-20 seconds
to allow the on-board computer to reset.

Starting Procedure

The following procedure must be followed each time you start your unit.
1. Park the unit on a level surface and lock the parking brake.
2. Ensure the safety tether switch cap is fully engaged (if installed).
3. Turn the fuel valve to the ?ON? position.
4. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn to the ?ON? position.
5. Turn the engine stop switch to the ?ON? position.
6. Set the manual choke lever to the full left position, if starting the engine from a cold start. (Choke close or on)
7. Apply slight pressure to the throttle lever, about ? throttle.
8. Fully apply the LH brake lever. (Rear Brake)
9. Place the transmission gear selector switch in the ?N?, Neutral, position.
10. Press the starter button on the left-handlebar.
Your unit should start within 10 seconds of pushing the starter button. If the unit fails to start, check the following.

1. There is fuel in the fuel tank and 2cycle oil in engine oil tank (2 cycle models only)
2. Engine stop switch is ?ON?.
3. Parking Brake Locked ?ON?.
4. Transmission selector switch in the ?N? position and ?N? light is on solid.
5. Tether switch is fully inserted. (if installed)
6. If you have used the remote control switch to stop the unit, make sure you have pressed the run button on the switch
to reset the engine stop receiver. (Viper 70M & 70 standard equipped. Viper 90 & 90R Optional kit)
7. You have set the manual choke lever to the full left position (Choke close or on)

Correct shifting procedure during normal operation
The following procedure must be followed each time you shift your transmission.
1. Bring the unit to a complete stop.
2. Allow the engine to idle down to less than 1700 rpm.
3. Fully apply the left hand brake lever.
4. Slide the selector switch to the neutral position and allow the transmission to physically shift to neutral.
5. Slide the selector switch to the desired directional gear (F= Forward / R=Reverse) and allow the transmission
to physically shift the selected gear.
6. Release the left hand brake and slowly apply thumb pressure to the throttle lever until the unit starts to move.
Failure to follow these procedures can cause the engine to shut off to protect the transmission from damage.
If the engine stops follow the transmission reset procedure on page one.

That didn't work on mine either. That is why I decided I am going to have to break the tranny apart and shift it back to neutral manually.

Default Perplexed in Tucson.

I'm new to this awesome site, lots of solid information and answers by well qualified professionals. With that said, I'm dumbfounded about my 2005 Eton 250.
I'm having the same problem as most of the people in this link are having. No spark at the plug, I followed the suggestions the community posted about this problem, still nothing.
The coil pack is new, the CDI is new, the sparkplug new. I checked the on/off switch, all the lights, horn, everything works but the plug....I miss my 4 wheeler.
I may need some hands on professional intervention, Anyone in the Tucson area?

Is the CDI a genuine Eton? They rather went their on way and most Etons are "earth to run" rather than the "earth to kill" which everyone else used, so need both a different ignition switch and a different CDI to everyone else. I haven't looked at this whole thread but standard tests for ignition system faults can be used on Etons, except for that kill wire
