What kind of noise is it. Did the exhaust bolts come loose? I have seen the exhaust come loose on them and it will cause it to run bad.

It sounds like the noise is coming from the left side of the motor, like a loud ticking noise or light rapping noise

How old is the quad and are you sure you adjusted teh valves right. It has to be at top dead center. Ticking is usually valves. What oil do you use and did you adjus the idle screw up.

cowgirl,

Like 2manytoys suggested check exhaust bolts, readjust your valves. Also you may want to check and readjust your cam chain tension. If it is out of adjustment it will make a tapping to rapping noise.

Good Luck.

Here you go. Cam Chain Adjustment

Honda engines produced after 1984 had an automatic tensioner installed in the engines. If yours is the auto type you may want to inspect the tensioner for any worn parts.
