Default Wheel Spacers

would this work on a 90cc?

I dont know if this is as high-speed as bill's...

But I did something similar and it set me back about $9 for all four wheels.

We did this on my (now daughters) 70cc Roketa. First...you can flip the wheels around. That gains 1" total without doing anything. Next, I bought 12 8mm grade 8.8 bolts with flange heads that were about 30mm longer than stock. Each bolt then gets 3 extra nuts to act as a spacer...

So it goes bolt through the hub, nut, nut, nut, wheel, locknut.

The three nuts add right at 1". With 1" on each side from the nuts and the flipped wheels, the width increased by 3.25". Suspension works better...quad is lightyears more stable.

I still ride it around and it is plenty strong.</end quote></div>

yes they work great on 50-90cc , i like to use 10.9 -14.9 grade bolts and nuts, for 110cc i have a differant way for spacers, if you don't know how to tell grade of the bolt ,just look on the head, it will have a number on it,

I have a Hi Bird 250 - please send me the plans for the wheel spacers - ascottharris@hotmail.com

Is using wheel spacers safe/practical? I just want a more stable machine - spaces won't weaken the axle or anything, will it?

Please send me your plans!

Thank you

Hi ascottharris,I purchased these for both my wifes 150 roketa and my vbike 4vs and they work perfectly.
They come in both 3 inch and 5 inch.

Thanks man! I appreciate the link!

Should the front be wider than the rear, or vice-versa? Should I use equal spacers all the way around? I've seen the spacers on RockyMTN ATV and at the Dura Blue websites - they're selling solid pieces. Do the simple bolts on the link you sent me work fine for 250 atvs? I don't know if you saw my posts from MOnday, but we just went ridin hard on some trails in West Virginia - and that's pretty much the way we ride most of the time. Should I go with the solid piece or the bolt-ons?

Thank you for you help!

scott

I had the same hibird 250.Typically on chinese bikes the front is wider then the rear. What I did was figured out what size spacers I needed to put on the rear to match the width of the front.I have seen these types of spacers on bikes in videos and they hold up great on all sized bikes I had my bike out once so far with the spacers and no problems. One thing I would recomend is put washers and locktite on them.
I'm 6' 250 lbs and they are fine.
What part of WV?I was born in Wheeling.

We went to Ashland Resort - rented a cabin and rode the Indian Ridge trails - part of the Hatfield-McCoy trail system - check out the websites -

It's about 30 miles northeast of Bluefield. When we ride close by, we're down at Slade's Park in Surry, VA, they have a 2 mile track, about 40 miles of trails and jumps for the dirt bike people
