Need help with quad ID,what do I have?
A friend gave me his kids old quad and I need some help with what it is.
All my friend knows is that its a Yamaha 100CC quad.
Its got decals that say "Champ" and its also got mud flaps that say "Moto 4"
The fenders are White and the seat is Yellow.
Are "Champs" and "Moto 4" the same thing?
Can I tell from the colors what year it is?
I'm asking all this because it needs some work. The fenders are cracked and the seat is torn. I'd like my son to have a cool quad, not a beat up POS.
If I can find all the parts to make it "cool" I'll go at it,otherwise it'll be down the road.
Thanks for your time
Rick.

I believe that the champ was made from 1987 to 1991. some mechanical changes where done to the quad in 1989 to make the rear end oil lubricated instead of grease. so if you have a dip stick towards the back of the rear differential then its 1989 or newer. generally any dealer (ex. www.worldofcycles.com) will have replacement parts. also search ebay under YFM 80, YFM 100, yamaha badger, yamaha champ, raptor 80, lots of parts. if the quad is not mechanically beat then its probably worth putting some $$ into to get running. however I have not seen alot of performance parts or accessories specifically for the champ but alot for the badger and raptor (some of these will probably work for the champ).
