Most likely is the carb, strip and clean it out by blowing through all the jets and orifices with compressed air. If that doesn't fix it, find somewhere you aren't going to annoy anyone and ride it without the exhaust, if you get a surge of power you didn't believe the bike capable of, you had a plugged exhaust, it is not just the spark arrestor that can bung up. If you are still having problems, it could be electrical, but may be plug, coil, CDI, trigger coil or wiring.

Is there any update on this...I was just given a non-working e-ton. I replaced the carb...so it's new...new air filter...all new gas and oil lines. It runs like a boss on flats and when I make right turns. For whatever reason...when I make left turns, it bogs out...and when I go up slight inclines...bogs out. I'm going to replace the fuel filter...I have a full tank of gas so it's not the way the gas sloshes around the tank. It's killing me...why would it bog when I'm turning left???

I went nuts looking for the same problem .. For me and we had a 2 stroke 2004 viper 90 . It was the gas tank hose that feeds the shut off valve . The tank was clogging the valve with dirt and crap from the tank . Check that before you go any further
