LT80 help!
#1
I`m new to the fourm, I have an 2003 LT80 and a 2005 KFX80 and yesterday the LT80 was running fine then all of a sudden it wouldnt move, engine running fine, chain intact, I changed the gear lube (80ml) it was a bit milky. I`m guessing the drive belt or clutch? it does move a bit and feels like a slipping belt.
Does anyone have the trouble shooting procedure and belt/clutch repair and replacement guids they could send me?
Thanks Much

You will have to remove your left hand side cover to look at the clutches. For drawings of the parts go to ( http://www.ronniesmailorder.com ) at the bottom of the page is the micro flinch page to click on to show you all the parts you are going to be looking at. From there you will see if your rollers need replacing or belt. Lots of things to wear out here. It's fairly simple to get the cover off, and go from there.

Thanks, thats pretty simple, off to go pull it apart. I stopped and picked up a new belt, so we will see if it fits.
Do anybody know of an aftermarket decal kit for these and the KFX80`s??

Ok, after tearing into it, I found the last bolt was actually a drain plug in the left case (you all probably already knew that)and guess what, out poured about 8oz or so of water , so I dried the inside of the case and belt and wee, just like new, works like a charm. I dont know how the water gets in there but, I had never drained it before and its four years old. Thanks for your help, now I need to find a service manual.

Some how I think our kids do the same kind of riding! And from my past repairs, if I were you I would check the fan and stator side(right side) of the engine for water. Pry out the plug and check for moisture. He sounds like my son, A submariner around water

I`ll do that today, he got stuck with his brother yesterday in about a foot of water, I got his little bro a KFX80 a few days ago and between the two of them with this Oregon rain I will have to get them both a mask and snorkle! Oh to be 7 and 9 again

Good to hear ya got'er goin again. I'm enjoying that Oregon rain right now. You should still inspect & clean the clutches. Water usually don't make things last.

I did take a look at then as I had it all apart, looked great after it was dry, I blew it out with my air hose and then kept it heated until I could take a good look. No rust or corrision that I could dee.
