Just bought a suzuki lt50, There are two pipes coming out of the oil tank, the one at the bottom goes into the right hand side of the engine, there is a pipe coming out of the top of the oil tank, thid isnt conected to anything, where does this pipe go?

I have put a link up to the picture of the oil tank, as i say the bottom pipe goes to the engine so thats fine but the top pipe isnt connected to anywhere and im unsure where it goes. anyone got any ideas?

Perhaps pressure release for the oil tank?

If it was perfectly sealed the oil could draw a vacuum and stop flowing.

 

Thanks for the reply WAATV. i thought it may be a breather but i wasnt 100% sure. I notice that you have a suzuki quad master 50, Could you please look on the oil tank and see where the top breather pipe goes to on yours.
