Default Vbike Issue

Well, took it out to the lease today. All went great for about an hour, no issues, good power, etc.

Then while climbing a hill (not overly steep), 2nd gear starts losing power. I get to the top of the hill, downshift to 1st, and it dies. Almost like it flooded or didn't get anough gas (can't tell).

Did this a couple more times before I got back to the truck. It will start up fine after it sits for a minute, but then does it again.

ANy thoughts?

Orian6, sounds to me like a fuel issue. I would check or change out the fuel filter. Perhaps remove the fuel line going to the carberator, fine something to pour gas in and turn the fuel valve on. See if gas comes out of the line real well or if it just trickles out. This will tell you how well gas is coming out of the gas tank and flowing through the filter. If it just trickles out, remove the filter and then see if it flows out good.

If this is all ok I would go on to the carburator and clean it out.

Hope this helps.

That's my initial thought, I am going to stop at the parts store tomorrow and get a new filter and hoses.

Ya know, I still need to get my fuel lines and filter changed on mine. The fuel lines that come on the V4S seem to be real hard. I plan on doing that right away.

I seem to remember a post I think it was from buyingchina that suggested changing out the fuel lines and fuel filter.I should do that as well.

Make sure your gas cap is venting, I fought with one of my Jetmotos that did this same thing and found it was the gas cap not venting and created a vacuum that would not alow the gas to flow to the carb after it had been ran for a while!

Ya change you lines and filter...The ones that do come on it cant even be called fuel line or a filter..plus you may want to check you carb settings ...

Well, I have a cracked fuel line for one.

Also opened up the vent cap a little. Tim is sending me a new cap as well.

Don't know if it's all related but will give it a shot. Started up and ran fine today. Till I noticed the major gas leak.

you can sometimes just re drill the top of the vent cap and that should help.

Hi orion6. Shut off the fuel valve. Disconnect the filter closest to the valve. Shake it out into a small clean container. And see if its rust coming from the tank.
