LT80 difficult to start when engine is warm
#11
need to change my post...should be titled Won't start at all. Just pulled the plug, chunks of carbon all over it. Cleaned the plug with wire brush, checked the gap, and checked for spark. Re installed and no joy with starting. Catches for just a split second, but won't start. Tried full throttle, no joy.
Fouled plugs, bad mixture. Was at 32-1. Any suggestions? My guess is now a carb rebuilt, new plugs, better mixture. Am I missing anything? About ready to throw in the towel on this quad. Nothing but trouble.

just cleaning plugs donot help on a two stroke motor. put a new plug in. it will start.as for the chunks of carbon. I would remove the head and clean the top of the piston of carbon. yes rebuild the carb.
