Cleaned up Vbike (TaoTao) today and looked it over for some adjustments and tightening. I took off the front brakes and cleaned them. There was a lot of oil residue in there so I would recommend everyone else to do the same. Also, I noticed that the inner tie rods end were loose. I tightened them up and found the hole to far out from the castle nut for the cotter pin. Had to take them apart and install a washer to bring the nut out some. Lubed all the pivot points and waxed the body. Silicone the undersides of the fender wells, to help keep the mud from sticking.

Here is some shots after the clean up.

Went for another ride with the MIC's Thursday while the kids were at school. Had a great time, tried my hand at geocaching, but was unable to find the cache. The wife did not want anything to do with geocaching, thought it was stupid. She probably looked harder for that cache than I did! Now she can't wait to go back to find it and already talking about finding geocaches on our trip to Northern Idaho next week. I guess the MIC's will come in handy for finding caches now. All three units performed flawlessly this trip. My niece visiting from Florida wrote the Hanma 110cc and it pulled her around with no problems except for one real steep hill. It made it up, but barely. Got better gas mileage from the 110 this trip. Was not running it as fast as last trip.

My wife and I took out the V-bike and Marshin for a 20 mile trail ride last Thursday. Both units worked perfect. I had to replace the rear swing arm bushings on the V-bike because they were chewed up. While I had it apart noticed that one of the welded nuts that held the axle in place had broke away from its spot weld. The combo of the swing arm and broke off nut made the chain constantly pop off. This was the first ride since the repairs and it was perfect. Still going to keep a close eye on those new bushings though. Just do not like the design that much. ghcoe

Wife and I went on a 50 mile trail ride today. Vbike did good! Chain stayed on and it motored right along. Looks like the bushings are doing all right now now. I think that the originals were installed incorrectly.

Ghcoe, how is that Vbike holding up? Have you got any videos of it in action?
